What is LED Light Therapy?
LED Light therapy is the application
of specific wavelengths
of light energy to the skin for therapeutic benefits. NASA’s space program has proven that LED light therapy (near-infrared) promotes wound healing and human tissue growth. The energy delivered by the Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) stimulates new collagen and dermal extra cellular matrix substance which visibly improves the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, without damage to the overlying epidermis.
Recent clinical studies have shown that 91% of subjects reported improved skin tone and 82% reported smoother skin.
Benefits:
- Promotes collagen production
- Improves skin tone
- Skin Texture appears smoother and brighter
- Reduces Inflammation
- Reduces appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and superficial hyperpigmentation
- Recommended for post-operative healing
- Excellent results obtained when combined with microdermabrasion, ultrasonic facials and, peels
- Non-invasive, no downtime
- Excellent results obtained when used in conjunction with specific skin care products
- Excellent for all skin types, including sensitive skin, and can be used on any area of the body (face, neck, chest, arms, hands, legs, etc.)
Skin Conditions Improved by LED LightTherapy:
Red/Infrared LED
Recommended for aging, acne, inflammatory/ irritated conditions and
post –surgical healing. Red/infrared light stimulates fibroblasts, produces collagen and improves elasticity.
Amber LED
Recommended for skin types that have fine lines/wrinkles, superficial pigmentation, uneven
skin tone and texture due to sun damage and environmental influences.
Blue LED
Used to minimize acne/rosacea conditions for the face, neck, back, or anywhere on the body.
Proven very effective against more difficult acne cases and instances where ongoing acne treatment appears to have stalled. Specific wavelengths of Blue light have been shown to attack the p-acne bacteria that cause acne.
LED Light Therapy is Not for Everyone
LED is not for you if you haveone of the following conditions:
- Pregnancy – studies have not sufficiently assessed the risk
- Epilepsy – certain light frequencies can trigger an epileptic seizure
- Thyroid condition – if you suffer a thyroid condition or are on thyroid medication
- If you are photo-allergic, or any taking any medication that causes light sensitivity, such as Tetracycline
Results
Results show themselves gradually, a typical series of 6 – 10 treatments are needed. Excellent results occur when combined with microdermabrasion, peels, or ultrasonic treatments.
Treatments
LED Light Therapy Treatments can be done as a treatment by itself or combined with other treatments such as, microdermabrasion, ultrasonic and peels.
